Dr. Njunga-Michael MULIKITA is Academic Programme Coordinator/Senior Lecturer, at Dag Hammarskjöld Institute for Peace & Conflict Studies(DHIPS) of the Copperbelt University(CBU), located at the Zambia Institute of Diplomacy & International Studies(ZIDIS), Lusaka, Republic of Zambia.
Prior to working for CBU/DHIPS, Dr Mulikita served as Conflict Prevention & Peace Building Policy Advisor with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Ethiopia Country Office, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Dr. Mulikita has held several international project appointments. Prior to working for UNDP Ethiopia he was Expert in Innovation in Public Administration and Governance, CAFRAD/ACBF Project, Tangier, Morocco (2007-2008). Before working for CAFRAD, Dr Mulikita was Senior Governance Advisor, UNDP South Sudan Sub Office, Rumbek (2005). This assignment was preceded by an appointment as Senior Programme Officer in UNDP Regional Peace Building Initiatives Project (2003-2005) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. His first UN system appointment was as Information Analyst in UNDP Capacity Building Project, OAU Conflict Management Centre (1999-2001) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Dr. Mulikita accumulated 15 years of research and teaching experience with the University of Zambia (UNZA), where he rose to the positions of Senior Lecturer and Head of Department of Political & Administrative Studies.
He holds a BA Degree in Public Administration obtained at the University of Zambia (1981), MA in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies, the Netherlands (1984) and a Doctorate in Political Science from the University of Konstanz, West Germany (1992).
